LIFT, an acronym for Life Improvement by Future Technologies, is a non-governmental research, educational and technological center. Its focus is aimed at bringing together the best of today’s scientific knowledge and practices as an innovative toolkit to streamline healthcare improvement in Russia. With this idea in mind, LIFT brings together scientists, engineers, medical advisers and investors to talk, to think and to run projects together at its spacious lab facility in Moscow. A home for specialists in many fields of science and technology including molecular biology, chemistry, bioinformatics, physics, robotic engineering, materials science, microelectronics and nano-engineering, photonics and laser physics, LIFT is making up a truly joint and cross-disciplinary scientific institution.
Innovative therapies based on scientific advancements may often change the paradigm for treating diseases and injuries as they unveil the true cause of illness that’s hidden behind the symptomatic pattern. Acting as a center of gravity for scientific expertise, LIFT’s prime strategy is to implement advanced medicare projects that are fueled by scientific and technology achievements.
Over a dozen of deep science and tech project are being run today inside of LIFT’s spacious laboratory facility. These include, for instance, development of neural interfaces, R&D in the field of microelectrode and microfluidic arrays, development of target-led drug delivery systems, deep study of human biomechanics and motor skills to facilitate biologic feedback-based rehabilitation technologies. To add more, LIFT is deeply involved in several IT-projects aimed at bonding clinical, biomedical and infrastructural databases that resolves in development of integrated biomed info space.
Yet another key activity of LIFT has to do with supporting of various educational projects. A one example is the ongoing MD program in medical neurotechnologies carried out in cooperation with the Pirogov Medical University in Moscow. As part of maintaing continuous cooperation with academic institutions throughout the country, LIFT constanly keeps up organizing thematic conferences, workshops and seminars in various fields of interest.
